Little Rock taco restaurant broken into, police say; cash, safe left untouched

A Little Rock taco restaurant was broken into early Friday, but the thieves left the eatery's safe and a stack of cash behind, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

The owner of Tacos 4 Life at 2630 S. Shackleford Road told police that he arrived at the restaurant shortly before 7 a.m. and saw that the front glass door was broken and the filing cabinet was knocked over.

Officers searched the restaurant but could not find anything out of place, the report said. The safe in the office did not appear to have been touched, nor did an Apple iPad mini, a stack of $20 bills or a bowl containing multiple $5 and $1 bills, police noted.

The owner was reportedly unable to retrieve security footage but told police that the last time the front door was seen intact was around midnight Thursday. Police found no fingerprints.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
