A man is accused of snatching a shopper's purse as she placed groceries into her vehicle at a central Arkansas Wal-Mart store.

An officer with the Jacksonville Police Department responded around 1:10 p.m. Saturday to the Wal-Mart at 2000 John Harden Drive, according to a report.

Nandre Walker, 20, of Jacksonville was arrested about 30 minutes later on a charge of theft of property, records show.

The victim said outside the store that she had been approached by a black male in the store’s parking lot while placing items into her vehicle.

The thief grabbed the shopper's purse and ran, at which point the victim chased after the purse snatcher until he got into a white van, according to police.

One witness reportedly blocked the van from leaving the parking lot until police arrived. Another called 911 after seeing the purse snatching, authorities said.

Two black males inside the van exited and ran south on John Harden Drive, the report states. Walker was found in the 300 block of Brewer Street and taken into custody.

Authorities listed one as wearing black sweatpants and a black tank top, while the second was described as wearing red sweatpants.

Walker was released from the Pulaski County jail after posting $1,000 bail, records show.
