Road to Camelot

Journalists Tom Oliphant and Curtis Wilkie, authors of The Road to Camelot: Inside JFK's Five-Year Campaign, will provide a behind-the-scenes account of John F. Trombone choir

The University of Central Arkansas trombone choir, BearBones, performs at 7:30 p.m. today, Recital Hall, Snow Fine Arts Center, UCA, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. Petty tribute

Arkansas musicians will gather to pay tribute to the late Tom Petty, who died earlier this month of cardiac failure, 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rev Room, 300 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 day of show. Proceeds benefit cardiac research; doctors from Arkansas Heart Hospital will be on hand to give advice on heart attack prevention and provide coupons for checkups and heart scans. Navy Day

Wednesday is Navy Day, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the parade ground of the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in MacArthur Park, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock. It's at the center of Navy Week in the capital city. Navy personnel will be on hand to talk about robotics, scuba diving and other naval subjects. Jonesboro tryouts

Jonesboro's Foundation of Arts will hold open auditions for A Charlie Brown Christmas (Eric Schaeffer's stage adaptation of the Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson TV special, characters and dialogue by Charles M. Schulz, with songs by Vince Guaraldi), 10 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Foundation of Arts Center, 328 S. Main St., Jonesboro. Director Elea Pulliam and music director Damon Wright will cast adults for the "Peanuts" characters via readings from the script (performers should expect to sing a portion of one of the songs) and a children's chorus.
