Family: 10 books being turned into movies

From nursery classics such as Peter Rabbit and The Story of Ferdinand to ’tween and teen-targeted thrillers including Maze Runner and Ready Player One, the forthcoming year in movies includes at least 10 films based on classic children’s books or thrilling young adult novels.

The films include Wonderstruck, based on the book by Brian Selznick, that is in select theaters Oct. 20, and extends to Mary Poppins Returns, based on the book Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers, that is scheduled for theaters Dec. 25, 2018. In between there’s Wonder, A Wrinkle in Time and more.
