Authorities in Arkansas say they found a box containing 3 pounds of methamphetamine Monday.

According to a report from the Jonesboro Police Department, officers received a call about a “suspicious box” spotted just off Arkansas 18 around 2 p.m.

The package, a U.S. Postal Service shipping box, was reportedly found near an Exxon gas station on Commerce Drive.

When officers opened it, they discovered what appeared to be a “large amount of methamphetamine," according to the report. The Drug Task Force later confirmed the substance was meth and said there was a total of 3 pounds, police said.

The box has since been turned over to the task force.
