Cemetery Halloween display of Las Vegas shooting victims taken down

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. — A Halloween display in North Las Vegas that depicted tombstones of the Las Vegas shooting victims has been taken down after it received widespread attention.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the display was of a cemetery with 58 headstones, one for each of the victims killed in the shooting. A large #vegasstrong banner stretched across a wall behind the stones and was the only part of the display remaining Wednesday afternoon.

Neither of the people listed on property records as the home's owners could be reached for comment.

Guy Becnel, who has lived in the neighborhood for a decade, said he thought the display was intended as a tribute to the victims.

Alina Tril, who lives in the neighborhood, said she was unsettled by the display.
