A 28-year-old parolee from Hot Springs is accused of exposing himself while performing a sexual act inside an Arkansas library earlier this month, the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record reported Thursday.
Jermaine Louis Atkinson faces a misdemeanor charge of public sexual indecency.
Police officers responded to the Garland County Library on Oct. 5, where an employee reported finding a man masturbating in one the aisles, according to a probable cause affidavit cited by the newspaper. When the employee confronted the man, he fled, the affidavit noted.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage before identifying Atkinson as the suspect. He was arrested on Tuesday.
Online records show Atkinson is on parole through 2025. He was convicted in 2010 of charges including second-degree battery.
He remained in the Garland County jail on Thursday.
