A teenager was arrested at his residence days after pointing a rifle at two police officers and then fleeing as authorities responded to shots fired in Little Rock, according to a report.

Police say James Lee London Jr., 17, of Little Rock returned fire Oct. 17 on people shooting at at him at an undisclosed location.

As London ran to “cut the suspects off after they already left,” London pointed a rifle at two responding police officers, according to authorities.

London, who threw the weapon and fled police at the time, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at his residence in the 3600 block of Foster Street. He faces charges of theft by receiving, fleeing and aggravated assault, the report states.

Officers received information from witnesses linking London to the scene, police said.

The rifle was found to have been stolen in a vehicle burglary.

Records show London was booked into the Pulaski County jail, and had been released by Monday morning.
