Four men and a teenage boy died on Arkansas roads Saturday, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police reports.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m., Michael K. McBride, 20, of Magnolia was driving a Honda Civic south on Arkansas 19 south of Magnolia when he attempted to pass another vehicle, according to a state police report.
The Civic then collided head-on with a northbound Mercury Marquis, the report said.
McBride suffered fatal injuries. Two Louisiana residents in the Marquis -- 57-year-old driver Ronnie B. Henderson of Haynesville and 38-year-old passenger Keauati M. Crittenden of Springhill -- were listed as being hurt, though the report didn't specify the extent of their injuries.

Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.
About 9:30 a.m., Daniel Rush, 62, of Rock Island, Okla., was headed east on Arkansas 10 in Sebastian County, according to a preliminary report. State police say Rush died when his 2005 Ford traveled off the road and crashed into a tree.

About 10:35 p.m., Sakvador Ezesarte-Cervabtes, 35, of Berryville was westbound on U.S. 62 just outside Berryville when he crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound Dodge van driven by K.C. Parker, 18, of Alpena. A 15-year-old Berryville boy who was riding with Parker died, police said.
Parker and two youths riding with him -- a 13-year-old girl from Alpena and a 17-year-old boy from Berryville -- were taken to Mercy Hospital in Berryville and Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. The fatal crash report did not specify who was taken where.
Two others riding with Parker -- a 17-year-old girl and Hailey Anglin, 19, both of Alpena -- were uninjured. Ezesarte-Cervabtes was also uninjured.
The Arkansas State Police does not release the names of minors.
The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash, according to the fatal crash report.
About 11:05 p.m., a 2014 Ford Explorer failed to yield to traffic while traveling north on Columbia County Road 408, causing the vehicle to crash into a westbound Ford F-150 at U.S. 82 east of Magnolia, police said.
The SUV came to a rest in a ditch on the north side of U.S. 82, a preliminary report states. Authorities said the pickup, driven by 44-year-old Larry Johnson of Magnolia, left the highway's right side and began to roll before also coming to a stop in a ditch.
Johnson suffered fatal injuries, state police said. A passenger in the pickup, 39-year-old Nikishia Buffington of Magnolia, was reported hurt.
Conditions at the time of the crash were said to be clear and dry.
About 11:30 p.m., Christopher Chaffin, 37, was walking in the northbound traffic lane of Arkansas 237 near Old Salem Road in Texarkana when he was hit by a 2016 GMC Acadia that was headed north, according to a preliminary crash report.
Chaffin, a Texarkana resident, sustained fatal injuries, authorities said. The driver of the SUV was not named.
Conditions at the time of the crash were reportedly clear and dry.
