Little Rock liquor store cash taken in break-in

More than $2,000 in cash was stolen in a break-in early Monday at a Little Rock liquor store, police say.

Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. to an alarm at 1902 W. Third St., the listed address for Warehouse Liquor Market, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

There, police noticed a hole in the business's west side leading into a storage shed with debris and a cash register in front of it. A door was also reportedly off its hinges.

An employee told officers that the thief entered the store through the west side of the storage room. A cash register containing $300 and a safe containing $2,000 were reported stolen. Also missing were several packs of Newport cigarettes.

The cash register was valued at $3,000 and the safe was worth about $400, officers noted.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
