TEXARKANA -- Special Officer Andrew J. Lumus last night arrested and lodged in jail a negro lad named Rastus Lewis, about 13 years old, on a charge of horse stealing. It is alleged the boy stole a horse valued at about $50 from another negro at Mandeville, seven miles east of here, yesterday afternoon. He brought the animal to town and sold it for $5. He then took the money and proceeded to invest it in two shirts with big red stripes, two red silk handkerchiefs, some red socks and a red necktie. He was a veritable vision of flaming red, with a very black setting, when arrested by the officer. He took his arrest and incarceration good-naturedly, his only worry seeming to be a fear that he may have to give up his new purchases.
