RevaBlend hand powered blender
RevaBlend hand powered blender

The RevaBlend won't replace your a traditional blender for making perfectly smooth purees or blending frozen drinks, but for mixing on the go or when the electricity is out, it's great to have.

The hand-powered blender has built-in blades that rotate when the bottom of the cup is turned. The directions state to fill the 16-ounce-capacity cup, screw on the lid, position the cup at a 30-degree angle on any firm, dry surface and roll back and forth. The rolling action rotates the blades to chop and mix the cup's contents. It also works to grip the cup in one hand and rotate the base with the other.

I used the RevaBlend to puree a can of Ro-Tel and for making vinaigrette with good results. The Ro-Tel wasn't as smooth as when I use my food processor or high-powered blender, but for requiring no electricity or batteries, it got the job done. Other uses suggested on the company's website, revablend.com include mixing ingredients for scrambled eggs, blending dips and making smoothies. However, I don't recommend trying to blend hard or frozen foods.

Dishwashwer safe, but hand-washing is recommended. Available in six colors.
