Interesting idea John, but I just don't see a lot of value in it. The problem you have these days is the highly divisive and partisan rancor that permeates politics in Arkansas and America. Yes, Shane is the great promoter, having helped elevate the Salt Bowl to become the premier football kickoff classic in the state. But an Arkansas Politics Hall of Fame? The second word in the name points to the mine field this event represents.
...
Who would select? What are the criteria. Sure, the first year or so you could come up with some obvious ones. Rockefeller and Clinton are the easy choices. But even those have problems as the comments that follow this one will be quick to point out, some rational and some from the BSC crowd.
...
I know Shane has good intentions, but let's just let this one die on the vine and move on to bigger things such as an upcoming state and local political season that will keep the schedule EXTREMELY busy at the Political Animals Club.

Won't work, politics means too much of a partisan environment these days, and I'd rather us concentrate on real problems (of which there are plenty).

Stick to Hog tweets, Sir.

Shades of George Fisher and his "Arkansas Old Guard Rest Home..."
You should include John Paul Hammerschmit, who for eons brought home the bacon for his area as the only Republican representing Arkansas since reconstruction. Doubt if he would recognize today's house.

I think the first class should also include mozarky, that woman shouting at Liz Eckford, and the guy assaulting the journalist in those Will Counts photos, just to acknowledge the worst of us, too. Two of them might be the same person.

A true public servant would say the only memorialization they support is the result(s) of their service. Maybe someone assembles a temporary installment for display at the Clinton center or elsewhere. A permananent museum? I think not.

Agree with RBear.
.
Interesting to note JB includes a couple of rabid segregationists on his "fame" list (Fulbright and McClellan). In today's insanely politically correct climate where confederate statues must be removed from the public conscientiousness there is little doubt any tribute to former segregationists who championed the oppression of black folks would incur a similar fate.

All can discuss till the cows come home but talking primates just because they can talk are arrogant and think that when they think it must be from being born again or from up above [ arguments over greek or aramaic writing of the jesus about the private conversation with Nicodemus] . Mostly things are not a choice [ sorry you who want to convert gays] so where we were born, our upbringing and the time we were born in makes us what we are . For example the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kindgon of Judea had different ideas about the boss of bosses [ starts at genesis with use of the different names for the deity] and sometimes had wars, sometimes were on the same side, but ultimately suffered the same fate of destruction. There talking primates will always be of 2 main camps . Just as the 2 orthodox christian systems and the 2 flying horse riding prophet systems in love take power drills to the other's knee caps or skulls, if the divines cant agree how can the rest of us agree.

Accept the fact that our species will always disagree up and until the world is covered with mushroom clouds to teach heretical other primates a real lesson or the sun becomes a red giant . most place odds on the mushroom clouds coming soon, especially since trump just like Nicodemus just doesnt get it.

Nicodemus said to Jesus, "How can this happen?" You are a teacher of Israel and you do not understand this? John B , how can we understand these things since we are mere sinners? I try my best to relay the correct ideas to those here, but some reject me and will suffer eternal stuff .

I think that Rockefeller [ a great prophet in his time] showed names meant nothing, he followed James the Just it is the walk that counts not the talk .

A Politics Hall of Fame might be what we need right now. It would focus emphasis on positive accomplishments in Arkansas and nationally which have been historically achieved through meaningful debate and compromise solutions as intended by our country's Founders. This might provide the spark needed to escape from our current political stranglehold of hyper-partisan uncompromising anti-government obstructionists and their hate-mongering calls to anger based on dubious rigid ideology spewed by politically rigid think tanks funded by dubious plutocrats and their dubious $mega-billions. Tellingly, their dubiously-intended $mega-donations have recently been legalized by a dubious Supreme Court decision handed down with the dubious rationale that political Big Money is protected (by our country's Founders) as Free Speech even when that Big Money was dubiously donated by dubious anonymous sources.
*
If the positive approach of a Politics Hall of Fame doesn't help correct our current political problems, then it might be time to try a less positive approach. Rigidly stubborn and irrationally ideological hate-mongering political operatives (and their multi-billionaire donors if We the People are allowed to find out who they are) could be properly recognized with highly publicized fanfare in another form. They could be ceremoniously entered into the Arkansas Politics Hall of (insert acronym here)--Disgusting-est Ideological Political Scoundrel Hate-mongerers In The State.

Like naming buildings and such, individuals should be dead for at least five years.
