Little Rock police say a 14-year-old girl was hit with a crossbow arrow while playing soccer in Allsopp Park Friday evening.

Officer Steve Moore said the girl was practicing with her brother and father when they heard her scream and saw the arrow in her shin around 7:15 p.m.

The girl pulled it out herself, Moore said. It appeared to be an arrow typically used for hunting. After searching the area, officers were unable to find the person who shot it.

The girl was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

As of Saturday morning, police had been unable to locate the person responsible.
