Malvern's Jimerson too much

HOT SPRINGS -- Senior quarterback Demias Jimerson turned Malvern's game with Lakeside on Friday night into a personal showcase, totaling 529 yards in the Leopards' 67-58 victory at Austin Field.

Jimerson carried 22 times for 404 yards and scored 6 touchdowns. He accounted for a seventh touchdown through the air, completing 13 of 20 passes for 125 yards.

Jimerson's heroics helped Malvern rally from a 28-22 halftime deficit with 22 consecutive points.

The Leopards are 1-2 and the Rams 0-3 heading into conference play.

Michael James broke loose for an 81-yard touchdown to give Lakeside a 34-22 advantage early in the third before Jimerson had touchdown runs of 30, 39 and 24 yards, and also connected with Darion Weaver on a 47-yard touchdown strike.

Dupree Swanson pulled Lakeside within 44-42 on a 23-yard scoring run and two-point conversion with 4:52 remaining in the third quarter. Jimerson's 24-yard scamper on fourth down gave the Leopards the lead entering the fourth quarter.

Lakeside quarterback Taylor Gilham found David Regenhardt for a 38-yard touchdown in the first quarter, setting up a back-and-forth first half. Jimerson scored on a 65-yard run, but the Rams held a 20-8 lead early in the second quarter after two touchdowns by Swanson.

After a 15-yard touchdown by Swanson, Jimerson scrambled 11 yards for a score with 2:27 remaining in the second quarter. Lakeside led 28-22 at halftime.

Lakeside hosts Camden Fairview next week while Malvern travels to Bauxite.
