Police: Driver exceeded 100 mph on I-40, meth found under seat

A man speeding through traffic in North Little Rock was arrested early Friday after authorities stopped him and found methamphetamine in his vehicle, according to an arrest report.

An Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officer was on Interstate 40 when a vehicle passed him traveling at more than 100 mph, according to the report. The vehicle was reportedly weaving through eastbound traffic on the interstate. The officer said he caught up to the vehicle after "several miles" and pulled over the driver about 12:15 a.m. near Interstate 430.

The officer said he found methamphetamine under a passenger seat in the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Avery Pickens, 34, of Conway, was charged with reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine.

Pickens was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Friday.
