A 22-year-old Arkansas woman died after she drove into the path of a pickup Friday morning, one of two highway deaths reported by Arkansas State Police on Friday.
Ashley Nicole Wilson of El Dorado was driving east in a 2001 Volvo sedan on U.S. 82 in Union County shortly before 7:30 a.m. when she crossed the centerline, according to a preliminary crash report.
That put her in the path of a westbound 2016 Ford F-150, which hit the Volvo, the report said. Wilson was killed.
State police said the pickup's driver, 74-year-old Charlie Smith of Monticello, was injured in the crash and taken to Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.

Authorities also reported Friday that a scooter drifted off a highway Thursday night, leaving its 45-year-old rider dead.
A 2015 Spartan 50 was heading west on Arkansas 217 south of Booneville around 8:50 p.m., when it veered off the north side of the road and went into a ditch, according to a state police report.
The rider, Jerry Terry of Booneville, suffered fatal injuries, state police said. No one else was reported hurt.
