A Little Rock man was arrested Monday after he broke into another man's vehicle and set it on fire, police said.

Little Rock officers were sent to an apartment in the 5500 block of West 51st Street sometime before 2:40 a.m., according to an arrest report.

A resident told investigators he watched a man break out the back passenger window of his 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Then, the man lobbed something inside the vehicle, which set off an explosion, the witness said.

The resident told police he yelled out his window at the man, and the assailant then fled into a nearby apartment building.

Police reportedly found the man, identified as 27-year-old Edward Anderson of Little Rock. The resident said he recognized Anderson from a previous dispute.

Anderson faces felony charges of arson and first-degree criminal mischief.

A court date is scheduled for Sept. 25.
