Arkansas driver killed after vehicle travels through barbed-wire fence, hits tree stump

A 22-year-old Arkansas driver died in a crash after his vehicle hit a tree stump early Tuesday, state police said.

Johnny Taylor was traveling west in a 2009 Chevrolet on West Center Street, west of Cave City, when he crossed into the lane of eastbound traffic shortly after 2:30 a.m., according to a preliminary crash report. The vehicle then reportedly left the road, went through a barbed-wire fence and struck a tree stump.

Conditions at the time of the wreck were clear and dry, the report states.

The death of Taylor, a Cave City resident, is at least the 348th on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary state police data.
