Man pleads guilty in fatal shooting of Arkansas man

MARION -- A man accused in the December fatal shooting of a Marion man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, 2nd Judicial Circuit Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington said.

Timothy Bell Jr., 29, entered the plea Sept. 13 in Crittenden County Circuit Court. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Thomas Young of Marion was prepared to prosecute the case.

Circuit Judge Randy Philhours of Paragould sentenced Bell to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Bell was accused of shooting Christopher Leduc, 34, on Dec. 21 at Lakeshore Trailer Park in Marion. The two were arguing about Leduc's sister, police said. Bell left but later returned and fired several shots at Leduc's house, striking Leduc.

Leduc died from his gunshot wounds as medical personnel transported him to a hospital, Ellington said.
