Arkansas driver loses control in curve, dies after Jeep overturns, police say

A woman was killed after losing control of a vehicle Monday morning on an Arkansas road, state police said.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 6:40 a.m. as Jennifer Smith, 36, of Yellville was traveling east on Marion County Road 8060, according to a preliminary report released Friday.

Authorities said Smith lost control of a 1998 Jeep at a curve, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described as clear and dry.

Smith’s death was one of at least 357 recorded on an Arkansas road this year, according to preliminary figures.
