Search and rescue teams are looking for a missing 9-year-old boy with autism in rural Madison County, according to authorities.
The boy walked away from his house Thursday afternoon, Madison County Sheriff Rick Evans said. Authorities began the search at 5:30 p.m. and continued through the night, according to the sheriff. Teams persisted in the search Friday.
Evans said authorities are searching the area near Madison County Road 8645.
Arkansas State Police brought in helicopters and additional troops to assist with the search, the sheriff's office said.
