A man died of gunshot wounds at a central Arkansas hospital after being shot Thursday night in North Little Rock, police say.
Officers with the North Little Rock Police Department responded at 8:09 p.m. to an apartment complex in the 5300 block of Summertree Drive on a call that an individual had been shot.
There, 26-year-old Dwight Johnson of North Little Rock was found lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release.
Johnson was later transported to Baptist Health Medical Center - Springhill, where he died of his injuries, police said.
An investigation is ongoing, and no suspect information was available as of Friday morning.
Johnson's killing marks the seventh homicide in North Little Rock in 2017, police spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick said.
