A man armed with a loaded handgun led police on a brief foot pursuit after stealing a $200 piece of clothing from a Little Rock Dillard’s store, a report states.

Rahzel Tennant, 18, of Mayflower reportedly took a jacket around 8:15 p.m. Thursday from the department store’s location at Park Plaza mall, 6000 W. Markham St.

Tennant then ran from authorities in the Dillard’s parking lot and dropped the gun as he tried to flee, according to an arrest report.

Police said Tennant was caught a short time later and taken into custody by an officer with Arkansas State Capitol Police who was at the scene. He was arrested on charges of theft of property, fleeing and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Tennant remained at the Pulaski County jail as of Friday morning, according to an online inmate roster.
