Brad Williams

Where I live: Otter Creek neighborhood in west Little Rock

Occupation: Musician. Frontman and guitarist for The Salty Dogs, who have been together for 14 years; guitarist for roots rock band Big Silver. The Salty Dogs, the neo-country quartet of Williams, Brent LaBeau on bass, Nick Devlin on guitars and Bart Angel on drums, are releasing a new six-song EP, Goodnight, on Max Recordings on Oct. 20. The Goodnight release show is Oct. 13 at Four Quarter Bar in North Little Rock's Argenta neighborhood. The band also plays Oct. 14 at Harvestfest in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Little Rock.

My favorite space is: My back porch at my house.

Why? I think my blood pressure goes down a couple notches when I'm out there. It's a great place that I can retreat to, to get away from the noise of a family of four with a crazy dog. The fall is my favorite time to be out there. Spring has the pollen, and summer is hot. Really the fall and winter are the prime seasons. Most of the time I'll have a guitar in my hand noodling around trying to think of song ideas.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: At some point I'd like to install a bench swing or figure out a way to rig up a hammock.
