Where I live: Hearth Stone, Rogers

Occupation: Freelance Sales and Marketing Consultant

My favorite space is: Newly renovated writing room

Why? This space was a glorified "catch-all" room that was rarely used, but when I hired Kim Moriarty last year to update my house, I knew I wanted to turn it into a functional space that I would actually use.

The light brown walls were painted a soft green with turquoise and coral accents. White linen would not have crossed my mind as a viable option for the upholstery, but in this space, it is perfect. The down-filled sofa and swivel chairs create a comfortable space that is not only inviting, but creates a sanctuary feel.

Whether writing for fun or writing a business proposal, this space allows my mind to quiet down and drowns out the noise of the outside world. Creative thinking comes easier and internal thoughts turn into words on paper. Without the distraction of a TV, it's easier to focus on my study and prayer time, too. This space becomes sacred any time truth is shared, and with it so easily accessible in my home, it's easy to take advantage of. It has been a game-changer in my daily routine now that I am working out of my home each day.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: I would make it bigger and make the back wall all windows.
