Dr. Nuri Akkus joined the Cardiology Center at Sparks in Fort Smith. He has been practicing medicine in Arkansas and Louisiana since 2003, most recently at Baptist Health Cardiology and Medicine Clinic in Little Rock. He spent five years at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport as an assistant professor and director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Akkus completed an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is board certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology and internal medicine.

Dr. Pratik Choksy joined the Cardiology Center at Sparks in Fort Smith. He was fellowship trained in interventional cardiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine.

Jeff Barker was named vice president of facilities for Washington Regional Medical System. He was director of facilities. Barker attended the University of Arkansas and has more than 44 years of experience in construction and facility management, including 38 years in the health care setting. He achieved the designation of certified health care facility manager through the American Society of Healthcare Engineering and also is a certified health care safety professional and licensed master electrician.

Amy Jetton was named vice president of ancillary services for Washington Regional Medical System. She was director of imaging and cardiovascular services. Jetton earned a bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a radiologic technology certification from St. Edward School of Radiography. She will be pursuing a master's in health care administration next year at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Karen McIntosh was named vice president of care transition for Washington Regional Medical System. She was director of clinical integrity. McIntosh completed a master's degree in health systems management from Vanderbilt University, a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and an associate's degree in nursing from Northwest Arkansas Community College.

Lenny Whiteman was named vice president of managed care for Washington Regional Medical System. He was executive director of Health Partners, a physician-hospital organization that manages health care agreements between providers and payers. Whiteman, who also oversees employer relations and care agreements among area employers and payers, remains on the board of Health Partners. He earned a master's degree in health care administration and a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing management from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He joined Health Partners, which includes Washington Regional among its members, in 1999.

Nick Bartmier joined Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette's Rogers office. He has been a teacher, coach and administrator.

Christopher Pigg joined Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette's Bentonville office. He earned a master's degree in human resources from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; and worked for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. for more than 16 years.

Amy Williams joined Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette's Fayetteville office. She lived in Branson, Mo., Nashville, Tenn., and Los Angeles for the past 23 years and worked in various industries as a television producer, in sales and marketing and as a fine jewelry manufacturing manager and designer.

Lisa Dillon joined Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette's Rogers office.
