PAPER TRAILS: Little Rock man on 'Survivor'; legendary actress has role at state film fest; Justin Moore sets Arkansas show

SURVIVOR STRIVER: The production tribe has spoken. Cole Medders, a 24-year-old graduate of Little Rock Christian Academy and Baylor University, is starring on this season of the CBS competition Survivor, which premieres at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

This season is titled Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers. We're guessing that buff Medders -- a rock-climbing, mountaineering and backpacking aficionado whose occupation is listed as "wilderness therapy guide" -- is considered a "healer."

But there might be some "hustler" in him, too. The three words he used to describe himself in his show bio: "Unreserved, dauntless and flirtatious."

Stay tuned to see if he can "outwit, outlast, outplay" and outflirt his way to $1 million.

Ultimately, it's the show -- now in its 35th (!) season -- that is the real survivor.

SEE ROSE MARIE: Legendary actress Rose Marie will have a role in next month's Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.

And we know this because a co-worker saw this tweet from @RoseMarie4Real, her official Twitter account: "Word is out, my film #waitforyourlaugh will play ... on Oct. 13 -- follow @HSFI for more info!"

We've confirmed that Wait For Your Laugh, a documentary about the actress said to have the longest career in Hollywood history, will be presented. Not only that, but Rose Marie will be present -- sort of. She's tentatively scheduled to make an appearance via Skype.

At age 94, she is savvy at both Twitter and Skype? The bloom is not off this Rose.

COUNTRY SUNDRY: These notes will be music to country fans' ears:

• Singer/songwriter John Carter Cash -- the only child from the union of the late Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash -- recently welcomed a daughter, Grace June, with his wife, Ana Cristina Cash. (John has three other children -- Jack Ezra, Anna Maybelle and Joseph John -- from previous marriages.)

So make that one more attendee for the Johnny Cash Heritage Festival, Oct. 19-21 in his native Dyess.

• Not only was the late Glen Campbell of Delight celebrated at the annual Academy of Country Music Honors that recently aired, he's being memorialized in a special 96-page People issue out now: Glen Campbell: A Life in Song.

The "Rhinestone Cowboy" continues to shine.

• Country star Justin Moore of Poyen will perform an intimate Arkansas show on Oct. 10 benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Saline County at the new club in Benton's Riverside Park. Individual tickets ($100) and tables of 10 ($750) are still available for the 5 p.m. event featuring food and auctions; call (501) 315-8100. After that, the singer kicks off a 40-city tour on Oct. 13, and he is not scheduled to perform anywhere in the state through April.

So fans must travel if they need more Moore.
