Arkansas man killed when truck runs off I-30, through creek

A 60-year-old Arkansas man died after the truck he was driving veered off of Interstate 30 and flipped onto its side, authorities said.

It happened about 1 p.m. Saturday as Riley Huffstutler of Searcy was driving a 2007 Peterbilt truck east in Hempstead County, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

The truck ran off the south side of the highway west of Hope and then crashed into a ditch and through a creek before it hit an embankment and flipped, the report said. Police did not indicate what may have caused the vehicle to leave the interstate.

Huffstutler suffered fatal injuries.

Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.

At least 361 people have died in traffic crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
