Police identify driver killed in head-on crash in central Arkansas

Police have identified the driver who was killed in a head-on crash involving two vehicles in central Arkansas on Monday afternoon.

In a Tuesday news release, the Benton Police Department said 76-year-old Judy Burton-Bradford of Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was near the intersection of Arkansas 35 and Edison Avenue.

Police said the driver of the second vehicle, who was not identified, as well as three children inside that vehicle were injured and taken to nearby hospitals after the wreck, which occurred shortly before 4 p.m.

According to the release, the cause of the crash is under investigation.

At least 361 people have died on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary state police data.

MONDAY STORY:

One person was killed and four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in central Arkansas on Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded just before 4 p.m. to a wreck near the intersection of Arkansas 35 and Edison Avenue, according to a news release from the Benton Police Department.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said, and four were taken to nearby hospitals. The name of the person killed was not released, pending notification of family.
