Officers with the Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigation of an overnight homicide in Hot Spring County, the agency said Tuesday.
Local police officers responded to a domestic disturbance call the night of Sept. 18 at a home in the 300 block of West Butterfield Cutoff Road in Rockport, which is near Malvern, a news release said.
At the home, police found the body of 29-year-old Jaraad Hasan. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. The release did not provide the manner or cause of Hasan’s death.
A 28-year-old woman living at the residence was taken into custody, according to the state police.
State police special agents were reviewing statements and evidence collected by Rockport police officers, the agency reported.
The investigative file will be sent to the Hot Spring County prosecuting attorney to determine whether criminal charges should be filed in the case, the release said.
