Man robbed at gunpoint of Camaro, cellphone at Little Rock park, police say

A 50-year-old North Little Rock man was robbed of his car and cellphone Sunday afternoon at a park in Little Rock, authorities said.

It happened about 4 p.m. at Brodie Creek Park, which a Little Police Department spokesman said is in the area of the 5000 block of Stagecoach Road.

The victim told investigators that he was at the park with a friend when two people he didn't know got out of a Hyundai Sonata he had spotted driving behind him while he was headed to the location, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

One of the assailants later approached the victim and pointed a handgun at him while demanding his keys and cellphone, the report said.

The gunman then told the victim to lay on the ground, police said, before driving off in the victim's 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. The other robber left in the Sonata.

Police searched the area but didn't make an arrest. No suspects were named on the report.
