Authorities in Jonesboro are working to identify a man who they say drove by a 15-year-old boy two times and offered to pay the youth for sex.

The victim told investigators it happened about 8:45 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Cherry and Madison streets.

According to a Jonesboro Police Department report, the unidentified man drove by twice in a red Chevrolet Cavalier, stopping to offer the victim "money for sexual acts both times as he passed."

The teen's parents had arrived to pick up the boy about the time the man stopped the second time.

The teen's mother said something to the man "about what he was doing," the report said, noting he then "cursed at her and sped away."

Police searched the area but didn't make an arrest. The driver is described as a white man in his 30s who stood about 5-foot-8, weighed 200 pounds and had straight, short blond hair.
