An Arkansas parolee led law enforcement officials on a 100 mph chase, crashed into another vehicle and kicked a deputy in the head, authorities say.

At about 11:15 p.m. Friday, a Greene County deputy and sergeant tried to pull over Logan Dustin Stricker, 30, of Paragould when they saw that the license plate on his car was registered to a different vehicle, according to an report from the sheriff's office.

When the deputies turned on their emergency lights, Stricker immediately turned into an apartment complex parking lot and accelerated, then exited rapidly onto another road, authorities said.

Stricker reportedly led the officers on a high-speed chase through Paragould. As both vehicles traveled more than 100 mph on East Lake Street, Stricker ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle at the road's intersection with U.S. 412, according to the report.

Stricker got out of his car and ran into a rice field on the south side of the highway, where the Greene County authorities tackled him to the ground, the report said. Stricker reportedly kicked the deputy in the right side of his head and struggled until the officers put him in handcuffs.

The sheriff's office said Stricker is charged with aggravated assault and fleeing, which are felonies, as well as leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, violating liability insurance, having a counterfeit license plate, driving on a suspended or revoked drivers license and resisting arrest with force.

He is being held at the Greene County jail and will be sent to prison on a parole violation, the jail said Tuesday.
