The Arkansas Arts Center, East Ninth and Commerce streets, Little Rock, takes the deceptively simple chair to new heights in "The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design," Friday-Dec. 31. The exhibit features 43 chairs illustrating the evolution in style, taste and materials. Members can preview the show at 5:30 p.m. today with a lecture at 6. Admission is $15 for nonmembers. Rugs, Razorback banks, birdhouses and other crafts by artists will be for sale and auctioned at the Fall Food & Crafts Fair, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday on Main Street between Seventh and Eighth streets, Little Rock.
