Accidents on roads in state take 2 lives

At least two Arkansans died in separate accidents Thursday.

An Arkansas man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding left a road and struck an embankment late Thursday, the Arkansas State Police reported.

The crash happened shortly before midnight as 34-year-old Jimmy Guess of Cabot was riding a Harley-Davidson south on Arkansas 89 near Oglesby Road in Lonoke County.

According to a report, Guess lost control of the vehicle at a curve, causing it to travel off the highway and strike a nearby embankment.

Police said Guess was taken to North Metro Medical Center in Jacksonville, where he was pronounced dead.

State police reported travel conditions at the time as clear and dry.

One man was killed and another injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Northwest Arkansas, state police said.

Police said a northbound Ford Ranger ran a stop sign on North 13th Street before striking a Dodge Dakota on West Persimmon Street in Rogers.

The Dodge then overturned and struck a southbound GMC Sierra at the intersection, the report stated.

The driver of the Dodge, 56-year-old William Dudzenski of Rogers, was fatally hurt in the crash. Police said the driver of the Ford, 21-year-old Mitchell Ramsey of Springdale, was also injured.

The driver of the GMC as well as a passenger were not reported hurt.

Travel conditions at the time of the crash, which was reported around 4:05 p.m., were described by police as clear and dry.
