At least three people died in separate road accidents over the weekend, authorities said.

Another person -- who suffered injuries in an auto accident about two weeks ago -- had died, according to Arkansas State Police.

On Sunday, a 53-year-old Arkansas man died after he was hit by a pickup while crossing a street in Prescott, authorities said.

Carl Anderson of Emmet was crossing Hines Boulevard around 6:20 a.m. Sunday when he was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Silverado, according to a state police report.

Anderson was transported to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported in the crash.

A 22-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck on an Arkansas road Sunday, police said.

A Pine Bluff police officer discovered a vehicle collision at the intersection of Harding Avenue and Olive Street, according to a news release from the city's Police Department.

Witnesses told authorities that a southbound 2002 Volvo S6 trying to pass a 2016 Buick Regal struck the Buick on its driver's side, according to the news release. The Volvo then crossed into northbound lanes and struck a curb, eventually stopping just north of the intersection at 17th and Olive Street, the news release stated.

The Volvo's driver, Michael Hudson, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The two people in the Buick were not injured.

According to the news release, the fatal wreck was first called a homicide because of Hudson's injuries, but police no longer suspect foul play. His body will be sent to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy at his family's request.

Police say Persley lost control of a 2003 Nissan at a curve in El Dorado, causing it to leave the highway and strike a tree.

Persley was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. No one else was reported hurt.

Travel conditions at the time were reported by police as clear and dry.

A 51-year-old man died from his injuries about two weeks after crashing his pickup on an Arkansas highway, state police said.

The wreck occurred about 12:45 p.m. March 15 as Thomas G. Smire of Sidney was driving a 1992 GMC Sierra south on Arkansas 115 through Calamine in Sharp County, according to a preliminary crash report.

While negotiating a curve, the vehicle left the road and struck a culvert, the report states.

Smire was taken to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, where he later died from his injuries, state police said. Bill Sadler, an agency spokesman, did not know the exact date of Smire's death.

No one else was reported injured, and police said conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
