The new girl from the city opens a world of imagination, art and literature for a rural youth in Bridge to Terabithia, adapted by Stephanie S. Tolan, Steve Liebman and Katherine Paterson from Paterson's award-winning novel, onstage 7:30 p.m. today-Saturday and April 19-21 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday and April 22 at the Studio Theatre, 320 W. Columbia Street in Helena-West Helena will be the focus of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's April "Walks Through History" tour, 11 a.m. Saturday starting at the old Helena High School at the corner of Biscoe and Arkansas streets and including St. Mary's Catholic Church, the antebellum Moore-Hornor House and Centennial Baptist Church. UCA jazz

The University of Central Arkansas Jazz Ensembles -- Dixieland Band, Jazz I and Jazz II -- will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall at UCA.

The Dixieland Band will play "Mandy Make Up Your Mind" by Clarence Williams, "Shout'em, Aunt Tillie" by Duke Ellington, "Dead Man Blues" by Jelly Roll Morton and "Dr. Jazz" by John "King" Oliver.

Jazz Ensemble I will perform arrangements of "MacArthur Park" by Jimmy Webb, with Bryce Leonard on trumpet; "The Man I Love" by George Gershwin; "Another Life" by Pat Metheny, with Steve Cohen on flugelhorn; and "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" by John DeBello.

Jazz Ensemble II's program of big-band tunes will include "Count Bubba's Revenge" by Gordon Goodwin, "Miss Fine" by Oliver Nelson and "Katy-Do" by Benny Carter.
