Meadows, Jennings to make music this week

Travis Meadows and Kevin Kerby will perform at 9 p.m. today at the White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $5.

Meadows, who grew up in Mississippi, became a missionary and then a preacher before writing and performing Christian music. He then became disillusioned, moved to Nashville, Tenn., and battled alcoholism and drug addiction before reaching sobriety in 2011. He has released three albums: Killing Uncle Buzzy in 2011, Old Ghosts & Unfinished Business in 2013 and First Cigarette in 2017.

He has also written songs that have been recorded by Wynonna Judd, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Blackberry Smoke and Mary Gauthier.

The Creek Rocks will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $7.

Thelma and the Sleaze, along with opening act the Craig Brown Band, will perform at 9 p.m. today at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack in Little Rock. Admission is $10.

The Coda Lee Collective will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is $5.

"Smac-Appalooza," featuring Jeff Coleman & The Feeders, the Amy Garland Band, Big Silver and others, will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is by donation to a send-off for the late Stacy McCullough (a longtime friend of the club who had worked at the location's predecessor club, Six Bridges, before it became Stickyz.)

Shooter Jennings will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the show.

Jennings, 38, is the son of country singers Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. He has released 10 studio albums since he debuted with Put the 'O' Back in Country in 2005, plus another five live albums. He has also produced albums and tracks for Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Jamey Johnson, Wanda Jackson, Brandi Carlisle, Jim "Dandy" Mangrum, Marilyn Manson and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Singer-songwriter Keith Sykes will perform at 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. Admission is $5.

Sykes will be featured as part of the second annual Arkansas Made Arkansas Proud locally made market, which will include more than 125 Arkansas artisans and craftspeople.

Sykes, who got his performing start in 1968 at a Holiday Inn in Charleston, S.C., has been coming to central Arkansas since the late 1970s when he could be heard at the old S.O.B. down by the Arkansas River. He has written songs that have been recorded by Jimmy Buffett, Jerry Jeff Walker, Marcia Ball, Rosanne Cash and Rodney Crowell.
