Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell in Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition

When it comes to cooking competition shows, viewers normally see professional or amateur home cooks who can whip up a five-star dish in 30 minutes or bake a flavorful cake using odd items such as wasabi or licorice candy. But then there's the Food Network Worst Cooks franchise, which features people who can't boil water without burning it, or make even a simple scrambled or fried egg without out them turning out like a piece of rubber.

Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition returns at 8 p.m. today on Food Network. Professional chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence serve as the mentors and hosts who lead a team of recruits through an intense culinary boot camp where only the most improved cook is left standing and wins $25,000 for the charity of his or her choice. And the team leader gets bragging rights.

This season's celebrity recruits are Catherine Bach (Dukes of Hazzard), comedian Maria Bamford, Nolan Gould (Modern Family), La Toya Jackson, Oscar Nunez (The Office), Bronson Pinchot (Perfect Strangers) and Ian Ziering (Sharknado).

This season's challenges will include a fish-and-chips fight and a pizza-from-scratch battle, and the two most improved enter the finale where they must make a restaurant quality meal for judges Rocco DiSpirito, Cady Huffman and Aarthi Sampath.
