Authorities are investigating a drowning in Arkansas.
In a Wednesday afternoon news release, the Pope County sheriff's office said it took place in Appleton, an unincorporated area in the northern part of the county.
The township is about 20 miles northwest of Russellville.
No further information was available Wednesday evening, as authorities were notifying the victim's family. The investigation is ongoing.
