Event set in county for tech recycling

Pulaski County residents can take their unwanted electronics to Verizon Arena in North Little Rock next week to have them recycled, according to a news release from the area's solid waste district.

The Regional Recycling and Waste Reduction District will host its annual free spring electronics recycling drive Wednesday and April 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

The recycling drive is open to county residents and businesses. Officials will check driver's licenses and other forms of identification that indicate residence at the gate, the release said.

2 roads called hubs for alternative fuel

Two segments of Arkansas roadways are ready to be alternative fuel corridors, according to a news release from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.

The U.S. Department of Transportation designated Interstate 40, from the Tennessee border to Conway, and U.S. 67/167, from Little Rock to Searcy, as being ready for signage that indicates the roads are hubs of compressed natural gas infrastructure, the release said.

The Environmental Quality Department and the Transportation Department are working to deploy the signs, according to the release.

Four other road segments are awaiting designations for compressed natural gas availability but do not yet have enough infrastructure. Another two road segments are awaiting designations to be electric vehicle corridors but do not yet have enough infrastructure.
