Wedding vows were exchanged by Kayla Ann Kelley and Matthew Thomas Wendel at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Monsignor Francis Malone officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Julie Chudy of North Little Rock and the late Phillip Kelley. Her grandparents are Orah Lee and Tony Chudy and the late Lenore Kelley, all of North Little Rock, and Diann and Jimmy Kelley of Olive Branch, Miss.

Parents of the groom are Kathy and Dr. Paul Wendel of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Mary and the late George Wendel and the late Bernice and John Budd, all of St. Louis.

Music for the candlelight ceremony was by musicians Cass Martin and Steven Shook.

Given in marriage by her grandfather, Tony Chudy, the bride wore a ballgown with a mikado silk bodice and tulle skirt embellished with beaded lace appliques. The bodice had a V-neckline and a beaded belt at the waist. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of garden roses, freesia, lisianthus, ranunculas, hydrangeas, stock and peonies in pale shades of white, blush and green.

Serving as honor attendants were Talia Sullivan of Maumelle and Haley Hawkins of Grapevine, Texas. Bridesmaids were Mary Kate Wendel and Annie Wendel, sisters of the groom, and Sarah Wendel and Lauren Wendel, sisters-in-law of the groom, all of Little Rock.

They wore floor-length dresses in dusty blue with various necklines and carried bouquets of garden roses, freesia, hydrangeas, stock, hellebores, dianthus and thistle.

Nathan Sampson of Sneads Ferry, N.C., was best man. Groomsmen were Jon Miskin of St. Meinrad, Ind.; Michael Wendel and Chris Wendel, brothers of the groom, and John Archer, all of Little Rock; and Eric Joe of Memphis. Guests were seated by Adam Chudy of Houston, cousin of the bride.

After the ceremony a reception was also held at the church. The buffet held a large arrangement of hybrid delphinium, snapdragons, hydrangeas, oriental lilies, garden roses, peonies and lisianthus. Guest tables held a mix of centerpieces including tall arrangements of garden roses, dianthus, lisianthus and trailing amaranthus with gold candle stands in various heights, low arrangements of wedding flowers and antique containers and lighted candles.

The bride has a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and a master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Harding University.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Christian Brothers University and is a mechanical engineer.

The couple will reside in Little Rock after a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
