Lanes of U.S. 67/167 to close

Work on a $79.2 million project to widen a 4.6-mile section of U.S. 67/167 between Jacksonville and Cabot will require multiple lane closings beginning Monday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

Lanes on U.S. 67/167 as well as the frontage road will require intermittent closings during daytime hours throughout the week, weather permitting. They include:

• The northbound and southbound lanes of T.P. White Drive/Second Street will alternately be closed between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and Arkansas 5 during daytime hours to allow crews to place asphalt at the Pulaski County/Lonoke County line. Traffic will be controlled by flagmen and traffic barrels.

• The outside lane of southbound U.S. 67/167 will be closed between Jacks Bayou and Vandenberg Boulevard, reducing traffic to one open lane. The intermittent closing will occur during nighttime hours only and allow crews to remove concrete traffic barriers in preparation for a traffic shift. Traffic will be controlled by construction barrels and signs.

• Flagmen and traffic barrels will control traffic on the on-ramp for southbound U.S. 67/167 at Arkansas 5 to allow crews to mill and pave the ramp.
