Issue 1 -- a proposed constitutional amendment on the November ballot that would limit attorney fees and damages awarded in lawsuits and would also allow legislators to determine the rules of pleading, practice and procedure in courts -- will be the subject of discussion at the next Political Animals Club of Northwest Arkansas meeting.
Both sides of Issue 1 will be presented. State Rep. Bob Ballinger, R-Hindsville in Northwest Arkansas, and Paul Danielson, a former justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, will be the presenters. Both men are attorneys.
The Political Animals Club of Northwest Arkansas will meet at Mermaids Restaurant, 2217 College Ave., Fayetteville, at 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 24.
Admission is $15.00 to cover the charge of a lunch buffet.
