Friends of Animal Village hosted an appreciation picnic on Aug. 11 at Little Rock Animal Village. The event -- called Volunteer Family Reunion -- was to thank anyone who'd ever spent time volunteering at Little Rock's animal shelter.
The volunteers enjoyed grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, drinks, games and giveaways. The Friends of Animal Village is a volunteer-run nonprofit that provides support to the shelter by hosting fundraising events and increasing awareness in hopes of increasing adoptions at the shelter.
Their next fundraiser will be Doggie Paddle Day on Oct. 7 at the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center. More information is available on their website friendsoftheanimalvillage.org.
