2 drivers, 1 walker die on state roads

Two Arkansans died in separate traffic accidents Friday, and one Arkansan was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday, according to Arkansas State Police reports.

Anthony Waddell, 56, of Imboden died after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned in a ditch at 5:28 a.m. Friday near Arkansas 115 not far from Smithville in Lawrence County, a crash report said. Road conditions were listed as wet, and the weather was foggy.

Booneville resident Charles Russell Forrest, 56, died just before 7 a.m. Friday after his Chevy Tahoe crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle on U.S. 71 at Poteau Mountain Road near Waldron, a crash report said.

Road conditions were dry and the weather was clear at the time of that crash, troopers reported.

On Saturday at 6:27 a.m., Jed Aaron Baldwin, 40, of Jasper was walking south along Arkansas 7 near Gip Annie Road in Boone County when he was struck and killed by a Nissan Xterra, a state police report said. Baldwin was walking in the lanes of traffic, the report said.

The driver of the Xterra was uninjured.

Weather conditions were clear and the road was wet at the time, according to the report.
