City Council member Roxie Hall will become Ozark's next mayor in January, unseating the current mayor in a runoff election Tuesday.
In complete but unofficial results from the race between Hall and Mayor T.R. McNutt, the vote totals were:

McNutt 187
"I want to thank the people of Ozark for their vote of confidence, and I look forward to an awesome four years," she said Tuesday night. She said she sees great things ahead for the city.
Hall received the most votes in a three-candidate race in the Nov. 6 general election, getting 375 votes to 311 for McNutt. The third candidate, Stephen Whiteaker, received 309 votes.
Hall said during the campaign that she wanted to be the people's mayor. She is a lifelong resident of Ozark and said she has spent her time on the council trying to make sure residents were taken care of.

During McNutt's term, he successfully advocated for passage of a sales tax in 2015, the proceeds from which were used to develop a community center in an abandoned factory building that was opened in December 2017. It features an indoor aquatic center and basketball court and soccer fields, tennis courts and a walking trail outside.
