Bentonville High 74, Blue Springs, Mo. 35

Bentonville bolted to a 26-5 first-quarter lead and cruised to a first-round victory in the Blue Springs Invitational.

Michael Shanks had 24 points to lead the Tigers (2-0), who led 47-19 at halftime. Connor Deffebaugh added 13 and Josh Smith 12 for Bentonville, which plays Jennings, Mo., in a 7 p.m. semifinal today.

Blue Springs (Mo.) South 76, FS Northside 66

The Grizzlies fell in the first round of the Blue Springs (Mo.) Tournament on Thursday.

Noah Gordon scored 24 points for Northside (4-3) and Jaylin Williams scored 19.

The Grizzlies will return to action at 5:30 p.m. today.

Blytheville 45, Springdale High 44

Blytheville surged in the fourth quarter to edge the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Tavari Eckwood led Springdale with 13 points and Brandon Henry added 10.

HS Lakeside 51, Huntsville 50

The Eagles lost a close game in the Farmington Classic on Wednesday.

Beau Welchel had 19 points for Huntsville (5-2) and Kent Mayes scored 16.

Valley Springs 71, Green Forest 36

The beat goes on for the Tigers as they won their 17th straight game Wednesday night.

Isaac Ragland led the way for Valley Springs (17-0, 3-0) with 30 points. Brock Knapp and Dalton Audeoud each scored 8 points.

Omaha 61, Green Forest 47

Seth Lippe had 22 points to lead trio of Omaha players in double figures as the Eagles earned a road victory over Green Forest.

Trey Stone added 12 and Dillon Gant 10 for Omaha (8-8), which led 37-23 at halftime. Colby Rincon had 12 points for Green Forest while Rhett Powell added 10.

Girls

Springdale High 59, Durant, Okla. 32

Marquesha Davis scored 22 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a win in the opening round of the Durant Tournament on Thursday.

Ashlyn Minchew added 9 for Springdale, which returns to action at 11:40 a.m. today in the semifinals against West Moore, Okla.

Rogers High 50, Blue Valley West 31

Courtney Storey led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points to help the Lady Mounties earn the win Thursday in the 22nd annual Freeman-Lady Eagle Classic in Joplin, Mo.

Rogers (5-1) faces top-seeded Blue Valley North in the semifinals tonight at 7:30. Taylor Treadwell added nine for the Lady Mounties, who had 10 different players score.

Springfield (Mo.) Catholic 52, Rogers Heritage 50

The Lady War Eagles came up short on Thursday evening in the opening round of the Stephanie Phillips Classic in Springfield, Mo.

Alex Pabon led Heritage with 13, while Danielle Dickerson added 12.

Gravette 73, Dewey, Okla. 32

The Lady Lions rolled to a big win in the Adair, Okla., Tournament on Thursday.

Lizzy Ellis scored 15 points to lead Gravette. Mallory Smith scored 13 and Jessica Bookout and Shylee Morrison each scored 12.
