Matt Machen has been named regional executive of enhanced banking services at Arvest Bank.

CONSULTING

Rett Hatcher, director of legislative affairs for Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, has been hired as a partner in the Gilmore Strategy Group, a political consulting and lobbying firm in Little Rock.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT

Cory Davis, senior vice president of CTEH, graduated with a certificate from the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School. OPM is nine-week education program for executives with at least 10 years of management experience and who hold a major equity stake in their company.

EDUCATION

Shannon Fleming has been named executive director of development at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he will focus on fundraising efforts for the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. Fleming joined UAMS in 2015 as senior director of development working on behalf of the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging and Regional Programs.

Ross Owyoung has been named director of UA Little Rock Downtown, a place in the River Market District to raise awareness of the university’s mission, help with student recruitment and alumni engagement, and provide an education resource space for community classes, seminars, workshops and lectures.

STATE AGENCY

Jim F. Andrews Jr., a member of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, will be the new deputy director and general counsel for the state Department of Heritage, beginning in January. Andrews worked as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Deltic Timber Corporation from 2010 to 2018.

UTILITY

Kody Miller was promoted to plant maintenance worker in the Wastewater Department at Conway Corp., the city-owned utility system that provides electric, water, wastewater, cable, internet, telephone and security services for the Conway community.

Shawn Moss was promoted to Journeyman Meterman in the Conway Corp. Water Department.

Margaret Smith was promoted to Administrative Assistant in Conway Corp.’s Marketing Department. She was hired as a cashier in June 2016.
